Faded Sofa Covers
Most of the pictures below have been taken on our own sofa bases so they are not the best photos. The pictures show some badly faded sofa covers before and after dyeing, others show customers attempts at home dyeing jobs and some are just colour changes. We encourage DIY on small items of clothing and we stock the Dylon dyes and offer good advice to go with them. Dyeing large items like faded sofa covers though is always going to be virtually impossible at home. Our machines are large and purpose built for dyeing to achieve wash fastness and light fastness results which cannot be achieved with home dyes and domestic machines. We would like some good pictures taken by you before you remove your loose covers from your sofa and then some pictures showing the great result. Even if your loose covers are not badly faded we would like to show colour changes too. If we use your pictures on our website or in any information packs then we will be happy to refund 20% of the fee you paid us as a thank you
The faded sofa covers belong to a customer in the Isle of Man we dyed them for her earlier this year. As you can see they were extremely faded but our strip and re-dye process has restored them to the original shade. You can choose an entirely different shade from the original if you wish. You can choose a colour from anywhere, paint charts for example, and our brilliant dyer will make a dye recipe to match it as closely as possible. This is part of our standard inclusive service with no extra charges. You do not need to clean your covers as this is also part of our preparation to ensure the best possible dye result.

The base was not attempted and showed much fading. The customer tried to dye the cushions and you can see the tie dye results. The brown covers are the same covers after we stripped and dyed the set together, a good result.
These loose covers show another home fabric dye attempt and the results showing a newly dyed grey sofa. The delighted customer wrote, “ Just to say many thanks for the brilliant service! This customer had not only attempted to dye the settee covers but had also put one of the cushions in some diluted bleach, fortunately this hadn’t damaged the fibres and as seen by the results the newly dyed light brown sofa looked lovely when it left us. Sept 2011

Just to let you know that the sofas look fantastic. We are delighted with them. The cushions came up the same colour as the main cover too which was a bonus. Anyhow, as I have already said 'Many Thanks for your help and guidance'.
